Real Madrid came from two down to beat Liverpool 5-2 at Anfield in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie.
The holders were two goals down within 14 minutes as Trent Alexander-Arnold turned a Vinicius Jr cross into his own net and Mohamed Salah capitalized on a Thibaut Courtois error.
Vinicius pulled one back three minutes later and a fine finish from Eder Militao leveled the scores before half-time.
Karim Benzema fired Madrid ahead early in the second half and added another just before the hour mark.
Substitutes Rodrygo and Dani Ceballos wrapped up a convincing win for Real, who are now in a commanding position ahead of the second leg at the Bernabeu on 15 March.
